BHS’ garden club is the new thing this year, bringing color to the school’s interior and exterior.
This year, a new club started that ended up being a big hit. According to Mrs. Richards, the club’s advisor, there are already 19 students involved in the club.
Mrs. Richards said she had the idea for the club this past summer with Mrs. Thompson. She said they had wanted to “make the school grounds look better.” Mrs. Richards also said that there had been a garden club at Hornung Elementary School and that she wanted to do a similar thing at BHS.
The garden club has already worked on projects like carving pumpkins for Halloween and selling bouquets, and in the future, they hope to grow flowers for Valentine’s Day and grow some plants in the greenhouse.
The garden club’s mission is to give life to the school. As Mrs. Richards said, they hope to “make the grounds pretty.”
The garden club meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 2:30 to 3:15 in the main office. To join, email Mrs Richards.
