There are different characteristics of teachers that make them good leaders. In an effort to understand these qualities better, this week, Schwab asked students, “What teacher would make the best president and why?”

Freshman Representative: Lily Smith
Answer: “Mr. Moore would make the best president. He knows a lot about the economy and is very wise. He is great with persuasion and understands people.”

Sophomore Representative: Luke Bond
Answer: “I would probably have to say Mr. Jacobson. He doesn’t really enforce the rules as much; he gives you your own rights and lets you do what you want sometimes. He is a teacher I have a good relationship with and a teacher I could trust with that power.”

Junior Representative: Liam Richards
Answer: “Mrs. Headley because she is already a civics teacher. I think she is a supportive person, really nice. She tries to help every single student the best way she can. Also because she is funny and always going a step further to see her students succeed.”

Senior Representative: Joseph deChavez
Answer: “I think Ms. McCann would make a very good president. She is a very good AP Government teacher. She would be fair to every party because when she teaches, she is not politically biased.”
