Reichhold is BHS’s new English 9 and American Literature teacher, excited to get her students back on track. Due to another English teacher being moved to administration, some students were left with a permanent substitute instead of a teacher. Reichhold is a highly qualified candidate for the position and is currently catching her students up to the other English students.
Reichhold is a mother of three—four if you count her dog—and has been married for 17 years. She was an English teacher in South Carolina for four years, and after some time off, she moved to Hornung Elementary School and was an education assistant for two years. She has since moved to BHS and is looking forward to staying here and making a home for herself and her students.
Her goal for her students is “want[ing] everyone to leave feeling like they have a solid understanding of the curriculum.” However, her goals for her students mostly lay beyond the curriculum, and since her students are half freshmen and half sophomores, she wishes to help guide her students to find their place at BHS.
“I want that [sense of community] for themselves, and I want that for me, too,” Reichhold said.
Reichhold plans on sticking with English 9 and American Lit for the foreseeable future and aims to learn as much as she can because she said that she is “still trying to wrap [her] brain around this year.” Even so, she is getting help from students and staff alike. Now that the dust from the beginning of the school year is settling, she is finding her groove in the classroom.
