The junior varsity sideline cheer team at Brighton High School wrapped up an exciting season that brought energy, spirit and unwavering support to every game and event. From the first pep rally to the last home game, the JV cheerleaders demonstrated how dedication, teamwork and Bulldog pride can light up the sidelines.
Under the guidance of head JV cheer coach Kelly Gibson, the team sharpened their skills in stunts, tumbling, chants and routines, all while fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. When asked about how the team grew and improved throughout the season, sophomore Emalynn Abramowicz said, “Consistency is definitely key and to keep pushing myself past limits.”
The JV cheerleaders offered a constant source of encouragement for their peers on the field. Their performances not only hyped up the crowd but also strengthened the sense of community in Brighton at the games. Some highlights included the team’s impressive progress in coordination and skill, strong chants that excited the Brighton Bulldog crowd and their unwavering spirit. The team’s contagious energy left lasting memories for both players and the audience.
“I’m there with all my friends every single day; we’re all working as a team,” sophomore Lia Zapata said, reflecting on the season.
With the season now behind them, the JV sideline cheer team looks ahead to the next year with excitement, ready to bring even more spirit, smiles and school pride. One thing is certain: wherever they go, the cheerleaders leave the crowd inspired and the stands buzzing with energy.
