Spirited snapshots: BHS students celebrate Winterfest spirit week

Sophomore Nora O’Malley trades her backpack for a laundry basket on “Anything But a Backpack Day.”

This year, Winterfest took on a new spirit at Brighton High School, centering the week around celebrating Unified basketball’s spectacular season. Building up to Unified’s game against Hartland, BHS students partook in a spirit week from Feb. 16-20 designed by the Leadership class: Tuesday was Pajama Day, Wednesday was “Anything But A Backpack” Day, Thursday was Teachers Dress as Students and Students Dress as Teachers Day and the grand finale, on Friday, everyone dressed up in black and orange for the assembly.

Ava is a senior, and this is her third year being involved with BHS’s publications. This year, she is continuing her role as copy editor for a second year. Other than yearbook and paper, she is both a competitive dancer and a dance teacher. In addition, she loves to write, read, is a member of the NHS, and has taken a recent interest in photography!

Paige Bierlein, Business Manager
Paige is a senior, and this is her first year writing for The BHS Times. She plays basketball and flag football for the school and participates in many clubs such as Truthfinders, Euchre Club, DECA, NHS, Yearbook, and Girl Scouts. In her free time she works out, plays board and card games, attends concerts, goes off-roading, and travels.
